There is no such thing as an ugly face. Only faces I haven't drawn yet.

Here are 3 more people I may have seen, or perhaps dreamed of, but who are now here to join the team of Personas by Alejandro Milà.

Just as some illustrators love drawing cars, others are passionate about animals, some about war tanks, and others about landscapes at sunset... I, like many other illustrators, I'm sure, have always been drawn to the faces of the people I encounter day to day.

Sometimes, in the quiet of the studio, I set my work aside for a moment to keep drawing, but differently. As if I wanted the company of people I've never met in my life, to help me get through the day.

And that's it — it's Thursday, and we keep on illustrating for all our clients.

Thank you all so much for staying tuned.

One of the most beautiful projects of 2025 was illustrating my first children's book. Mónica Ventura and María Fernanda Montero, psychologists specialized in art therapy, wrote a lovely story so the little ones can enjoy, understand, and manage their emotions in the best possible way.

Here are a few fragments from the book where emotions are beautifully reflected through art supplies:

· A little pot of black Chinese ink representing anger

· A squeezed tube of pale blue gouache representing sadness

· A pot of glue that binds and fixes beautiful things, representing gratitude

The book is having great success, and they just launched the hardcover version, much more pleasant and practical for young children.

For now, it's available in Spanish, and you can find it worldwide at:

Very proud and grateful to have been part of this special project

Mente a Color – A Children's Book for Managing Emotions by Alejandro Milà

In 2013, I had the great fortune of attending a conference by Oliviero Toscani at FID in Costa Rica. My mother and I were always huge admirers of Benetton’s fashion, largely because of the advertising campaigns Oliviero Toscani created in the 80s.

One thing he said that really stuck with me was that he loved making portraits of everyone he met because he believed there is no ugly human being in the world.

And I think it marked me deeply because I identified so much with the master: I’m deeply interested in people’s faces and how I can get close to them by drawing the faces I see — sometimes without them even noticing.
